Nepal - Helambu Trekking (8 Days)

Just an hour drive north from Kathmandu lays the Helambu region, the nearest popular trekking destination from the Nepalese capital. The region provides a spectacular view of the mountains whilst the climate is favorable compared to other trekking destinations in the country. The Helambu trek is perfect for people who wish to experience trekking in a moderate climate and low altitude while still being amazed by the mountains and their views. Located just 80 km from Kathmandu it is easily accessible for tourists. Cultures that can be found in this era are Tamang and Sherpa and it is the home of the “Hyolmo” people. It is the name of this tribe, Hyolmo, from where the current name, Helambu, comes from. The trek begins from Sundarijal/Chisapani, crossing Kutumsang, Therepati, Tarkeghyang, and Sermathang before finally descending to the Melamchi Bazaar.
