Ganesh Himal Trek will take you to the central-eastern region of Nepal, one of the least explored areas of the Himalayas territory which is situated in between the most popular trekking destinations Langtang to the east and Manaslu to the west. On the Ganesh Himal trek, you will get to explore the typical native culture and natural vista of the Tamang Valley. Ganesh Himal Trek is another route that has been hardly explored and yet one of the untouched trekking routes in Nepal.

Named after the Hindu God –  Lord Ganesh, Ganesh Himal promises the trekkers to deliver breathtaking panoramic views of the Himalayas including panoramic Ganesh Himal ranges I, II, III, IV, Mount Manaslu, Langtang Mountain, Annapurna Mountain, and also the Tibet range. Along with that Ganesh Himal provides you with the opportunity to capture the picturesque views of mountains and landscapes, waterfalls, amazing rock formations, and Saint George. Ganesh Himal treks start from the Satdobato and end at the Dhading Besi.

This trek is for those trekkers who want to get free from the chaos of city life and wants to wander and lost themselves in nature and its beauty. Get closer to nature and explore the remote village that is situated in the lap of the Ganesh Himal region.

  • Guide: Government licensed and experienced fluent English speaking trek guide.
  • All porter (one porter can carry 18 kilo of luggage and share between two clients. So both clients are suggested to bring 9 kilo of luggage each).

Itinerary

DAY 1 Kathmandu To Dhading Satdobato (1500 m), Driving Duration: 7 Hours

On the first day of the trek, our guide will pick you up from your hotel in Kathmandu and take you to Satdobato in a private vehicle. The drive to Satdobato will take you through the Trishuli River and offer beautiful views of the surrounding landscape. Please note that the road after crossing the Trishuli River may be bumpy and rough. Satdobato is a town with a mix of people from different ethnic backgrounds, including Brahmins, Chhetris, and Tamangs.

DAY 2 Satdobato To Bhalche (1950 m) Hiking Duration: 5 Hours

On the second day of the trek, we will begin our journey in earnest as we make a gradual ascent to Kispang. Along the way, we will pass through terraced fields and villages. As we continue our hike, we will make our way up to Bhalche village where we will set up camp for the night. Bhalche is a charming Tamang village surrounded by Buddhist prayer flags and beautiful terraced farms.

DAY 3 Balche To Gonga (3000 m) Hiking Duration: 5/6 Hours

On the third day of the trek, we will depart from Bhalche and begin a steady ascent through a forest of rhododendron trees to Gonga. As we make our way through the forest, we will need to cross a few rivers and eventually reach ThuloChaur, a beautiful clearing in the middle of the jungle. Along the way, you may have the chance to spot wildlife such as Himalayan monkeys, and enjoy stunning views of the Langtang mountain range.

DAY 4 Gonga To Rupchet/Shingla Base Camp (3600 m) Hiking Duration: 5/6 Hours

You will begin your day with breakfast, after which you will embark on a trek through a dense forest of rhododendron and pine. As you make your way to Rupchet or Singla Base Camp, you may have the opportunity to spot a variety of wild animals, including white monkeys, Himalayan tahr, gaur, and musk deer. At Rupchet, you can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the Himalayas. When you arrive at Singla Base Camp, your porters will be waiting to set up your tent for you. Take a rest once you reach your campsite.

DAY 5Rupchet/Shingla Base Camp To Kharka Over Sing La Pass (4600 m)

Today’s trek will be a challenging one, as the trail is steep, slippery, and narrow. Be sure to take your time and walk carefully as you make your way up to Singla Pass. When you reach the top, you will be treated to stunning views of Mount Ganesh Himal, Mt. Langtang, Manaslu, and many other peaks. After enjoying the views, the trail will lead you down to a pasture, where your porter will set up a tent for you to spend the night.

DAY 6 Trek To Borang (1800 m) Hiking Duration: 5/6 Hours

Today, your destination is Borang. The majority of your hike will consist of a steep descent through terraced land and villages. Borang is a traditional Tamang village where you will find the local people living in isolation from the modern world. Technology and development have yet to reach this remote area. Once you arrive in Borang, take a break and spend some time exploring the village and interacting with the locals.

DAY 7 Borang To Jharlang (1700 m) Hiking Duration: 5/6 Hours

The hike to Jharlang will be more moderate as you walk through farming terraces and villages populated by Tamang and Gurung people. Keep walking, and you will eventually reach Jharlang.

DAY 8 Jharlang To Kintang Phedi (1200 m) - Hiking Duration: 6/7 Hours

Today, you will make your way down to Kingtang Phedi. Along the way, you will pass through a small Tamang village where you can take a short break to observe the lifestyle of the local people. In the evening, you may choose to take a leisurely walk down to Khahare.

DAY 9 Kintang Phedi To Jyamrung (1550 m) Hiking Duration: 6/7 Hours

Today’s trail will lead you through the Ankhu River and a number of small towns. As you descend to lower altitudes, you may notice that the temperature becomes warmer and hotter during the day. Along the way, you will pass through Jyamrung Danda, where you can visit the former site of a royal palace and home to the regional king. Continue hiking for a while until you reach Jyamrung.

DAY 10 Jyamrung To Dhading Besi And Drive Back To Kathmandu

After breakfast, you will hike towards Dhading Besi. The journey to Dhading Besi will take about two and a half hours on unpaved roads. Once you arrive in Dhading Besi, your trek will come to an end, and you will take a private vehicle to Kathmandu. The drive will be scenic, offering beautiful views of rivers, hills, terraces, forests, and villages. Upon arriving in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel, where you can check in and rest.
