The day starts with a flight to Lukla from Kathmandu Airport. From Lukla, we commence our trek up towards Phakding. The trail runs along the DudhKosi (Milk River). You will be trekking amidst a rhododendron forest, which gives a strong aroma of evergreen oak. Along the way, you will pass by many villages until you reach Phakding.

The trail will start off relatively easy but will gradually become harder. You will be able to get your first glimpse of Everest as you are crossing the mighty DudhKoshi. As you proceed further, the trail will lead you to Monjo, where you could make a lunch stopover. The next part of the trail will be more difficult. The trail becomes more vertical and the altitude will add on as we head towards Namche, leaving one with shortness of breath. One should not increase the walking pace but rather step up slow and steady. You will be making a pit stop at Namche Bazaar to stay the night. The people of and around the Solukhumbu region conjugate in this area to do business. There are facilities of shops, restaurants, hotels, a bank, and internet services which enable you to get in touch with your loved ones, friends and relatives. Namche Bazaar offers an interesting insight into how people survive in this region.

Accommodation: Overnight in available lodge in Namche Bazaar.

Namche Bazaar is also known as the Sherpa Capital. You can use your time to acclimatize, relax and explore the surrounding places. Most of the trekkers prefer to get up before sunrise to view the magnificent views of Mount Everest, Thamserku, AmaDablam and other glorious peaks from the Sagarmatha National Park. One can get a chance to observe the shadow of the Giant Himalayas being projected onto the clouds above and truly appreciate their magnitude. As an energy supplier, one should try salt-butter tea and Champa, a kind of barley often consumed by the sherpas in the region. The lively cultural Saturday market is worth a visit and is usually full of traders who are trying to desperately sell off their products.

We will be commencing early in the morning to Thame. One must be prepared for the drastic and rapid change in climate and temperature, one minute the sun will be glaring fiercely and the next it will be as even darkness has engulfed you. The initial part of the trek is easy-going as it is relatively flat however, the views will be outrageous. After a few more hours, you will reach Thame. In the neighboring village, Nauje is a small Monastery for Tibetan Nun's. The Monastery has a stunning, beautiful giant prayer wheel, carved and painted in dazzling Nepali colors. We will be having lunch close to the monastery. We will be going for a walk to gain some extra height which helps us adjust to the latitude.

We will begin the trek to Khumjung with an early start. We will start off climbing uphill to the monastery above Thame village. If the weather is good, you will be able to witness a scene where the natural beauty of the majestic landscape combines with the ancient Buddhist culture of the Sherpa people. After the visit, you will be heading back in the direction of Namche Bazaar towards Khumbila. The trail eventually widens as you head towards Khumjung and follow the contour of the mountain at a slight incline. This village lies at the foot of the sacred peak, Khumbila. The Monastery there was established approximately 340 years ago and is the head of a Yeti, popularly known as the Abominable Snowman. It is a nice place to stay for the night. It is a famous place for Adman Hillary lover people.
