Welcome to Tibet is a rich and beautiful land with an average altitude over 4,000m (13,120ft) above sea level. Possessing more than fifty peaks above7,000m (22,960ft), Tibet is home to eleven Himalayan mountains over 8,000m (26,240ft). China, India, Nepal, Sikkim, Bhutan, Burma and Kashmir all border Tibet. Over two million people inhabit this land of rich natural resources and ancient cultures.

Spiritual traditions, temples and monasteries, lakes and rivers, and mighty snow clad peaks are just a few of the intoxicating wonders to be experienced by adventurous travelers who get the opportunity to visit this land. Buddhism, with a history of some 1,300 years is shaped into a unique form of "Lamaism". Tibetan history, culture and religion are mixed together and infiltrate every aspect of social life. Tibetan religious arts have a distinctive style with adoption of Indian and Chinese Buddhist influence, thus forming a pearl of Oriental Buddhist art. The various people who live on the Tibetan plateau, such as Tibetans, Monpas, Lhopas and Moslems, each have their own unique of traditions of marriage, burial birth, and other ceremonies. Festivals in Tibet are numerous providing many opportunities for large and exciting celebrations. So come and visit a the land rich in mountains, monks, mystery and adventure.

Tour Itinerary

Day One KATHMANDU – NYLAM. (3750m) Tour starts form Asian Heritage Treks office on early morning at 06 00am. Drive to Dhulikhel, stops for breakfast and then again drive to Kodari, which is 114 km from Kathmandu, takes 05-06hrs. Upon arrival our tour escort will help you to go through immigration formalities in Nepali part and after immigration formalities 03-04 minute walks to other side of the border i.e. Tibetan part, there will be our Tibetan Guide with 4WD Jeeps and supporting trucks takes you to Zhangmu (Tibetan town 09 km uphill drive form border.). At Zhangmu, you again have to go through Chinese immigration formalities and there you will have your lunch and further drive to Nyalam (30 kms form Zhangmu takes 2 hrs uphill drives) guesthouse. Day Two NYALAM Rest day for acclimatization. Day Three LNYAAM – SAGA After breakfast our journey starts to Saga which is 06-08 hrs drive, 4050 m in elevation and over night in camp. Day Four SAGA – PARAYANG After early morning breakfast drive to Para yang, which is 06- 07 hrs drive and over night in camp. Day Five PARAYANG – MANASAROVAR Early morning drive to Manasorovar, which takes 4-5 hours drive, 4550m in elevation and over night in camp. Day Six MANASAROVAR – DARCHEN Explore Lake Manasorovar in the morning and drive to Darchen, which is 1-hour drive and, 4,560 m in elevation and over night in camp or Guest house. Day Seven DARCHEN – DIRAPUK After early morning breakfast trek starts (The Kora begins) and after 5 – 6 hours trek to Dirapuk, 4,890 m in elevation and overnight in camp. Day Eight DIRAPUK – ZUTULPUK Parikrama continues to Zutulpuk, which will takes approximately 08 hours, 4,790m in elevation and overnight in camp. Day Nine ZUTULPUK – DARCHEN – HORFE End treks at Darchen and drive to Horef and over night in camp.
Day Ten HORFE – PARAYANG Drive back to Para yang and over night in camp. Day Eleven PARAYANG – SAGA Drive to Saga and over night in camp. Day Twelve SAGA – LHATSE Drive to LHATSE and over night in G. house. Day Thirteen LHATSE - SIGATSE (3,900M), 244KM, APPROX 06-08 HRS DRIVE. Scenic drive through the highest point, Gyatchu La passes (5,220m) en route to Lhasa via Latse and Shakya Monastery. Overnight at hotel. Day Fourteen XIGATSE –GYANTSE (3,950M), 90KM, APPROX 2 HRS DRIVE. Morning sightseeing to the Panchen Lama’s Tashilumpu Monastery. Drive through the Tibet’s biggest Agricultural field to Gyantse and visit to the Kumbum Stupa & Palkor Monastery. Over night at Hotel. Day Fifteen GYANTSE – LHASA (3650M) 261 KM. Full day picturesque drive along the turquoise lake Yamadrok, crossing over Kampala Pass (4794M) and the Brahma Putra River (Yarlung Tsangpo). Over night at hotel. Day Sixteen Two full day’s sight seeing tour to Lhasa including JOKHANG TEMPLE, BARKHOR BAZAAR, POTATLA PALACE, and DEPRUNG AND SERA MONASTERIES. Over Day Seventeen LHASA – KATHMANDU Fly back to Lhasa – Kathmandu. Early morning drive to Gongaar airport for departure flight to Kathmandu or to your onward destination
