Annapurna Base Camp Trekking is a moderate trekking which commences from Birethati, a short drive (an hour) from Pokhara, which takes you to the foot of Mt. Annapurna Base Camp (4130m). It is also considered as one of the most magnificent peaks in the world. The trail takes you through the traditional villages of Nepal

FAQ

  • Day 1

    Pokhara – Nayapul – Ulleri (1,5 hours by car, 6 hours walk)


    We start in the early morning in Pokhara and take a private vehicle to Nayapul. It takes around 1 hour to reach Nayapul. From Nayapul we walk around 6 hours with a short lunch break and reach our destination in Ulleri (1940 m) in the late afternoon. On the way to Ulleri, we are passing typical Nepali villages and beautiful terraced rice fields. The last part of the walk is quite interesting as we have to climb up to approx. 2500 stone stairs!   • Day 2

    Ulleri – Ghorepani (5 hours walk)


    After breakfast, we head up for Ghorepani. Today's trail is slightly easier than the day before. We pass through amazing rhododendron forest, pine forest and cross little bridges. After lunch in Nangethati, we continue our walk towards Ghorepani (2750 m) and reach the beautiful, blue village in the late afternoon. From Ghorepani, we have a great view on the magnificent Mt.Dhaulagiri (8167 m). Overnight in a lodge
  • Day 3

    Ghorepani – Poon Hill – Tadapani (6 hours walk)


    We get up very early in the morning and hike to Poon Hill (3210 m) to see the beautiful sunrise with the view on Mt.Dhaulagiri, Mt.Fishtail, and the complete Annapurna range. After sunrise, we hike back to Ghorepani at our lodge and have breakfast there. After breakfast, we continue hiking through beautiful rhododendron forests, alongside wild creeks and waterfalls. We stop at banthati at have lunch there and continue on our trail and reach Tadapani (2590 m) in the late afternoon. Overnight in a lodge.
  • Day 4

    Tadapani – Chhomrong (4 hours walk)


    After breakfast, the trail leads us alongside terraced rice fields and we pass many little settlements. We descend to cross the Kimrung Khola River and then climb up to reach Chhomrong in the early afternoon. From Chhomrong we have a fantastic view on Fishtail and Annapurna South. overnight in the lodge.
  • Day 5

    Chhomrong – Bamboo (4 hours walk)


    After breakfast, we start our hike with a steep way down until we cross the Chhomrong Khola River. After the bridge, we climb up to reach Sinuwa, where we have lunch. After lunch, we continue our walk through the rocky steps and beautiful bamboo forests. We reach the settlement Bamboo (2300 m) in the early afternoon. Bamboo is famous for its large Lemurs colonies. With a little luck, we can see one of them in the trees around our lodge. We stay overnight in a lodge.
  • Day 6

    Bamboo – Deurali (5 hours walk)


    After breakfast, we start our hike to deurali through dovan village and Himalayan hotel crossing beautiful rhododendron and bamboo forests. After a little settlement called Himalaya, we steep climb up through a much drier forest before reaching Hinku Cave. From here we can see the trail drop closer to the river before climbing again to Deurali (2920 m). Overnight at lodge in Deurali.
  • Day 7

    Deurali – Annapurna Base Camp (5 hours walk)


    After breakfast, we start hiking and the trail goes alongside the beautiful Modi Khola River. On the way, we have an amazing view of the holy mountain of Machapuchare (Fishtail) which changes its shape the closer we come. We reach MBC (3700 m) at lunchtime. After lunch, we continue our hike to ABC. The setting of the Annapurna Base Camp at 4130 m is absolutely unique and incredibly spectacular. It is also called Annapurna Sanctuary because of its oval-shaped plateau which is surrounded by a ring of mountains. Arriving at ABC we find ourselves face to face with the magical Annapurna I (8091 m). The sunrise there is truly breathtaking. Overnight at lodge.
  • Day 8

    Annapurna Base Camp ABC (Rest Day)


    After breakfast, you enjoy the mesmerizing view of Annapurna base camp you can hike to himchuli base camp or enjoy your day as you please. Overnight at lodge.
  • Day 9

    ABC- MBC - Bamboo (7 hours walk)


    After breakfast, we find ourselves face to face with the magical Annapurna I (8091 m). It is also called Annapurna Sanctuary because of its oval-shaped plateau which is surrounded by a ring of mountains. The sunrise there is truly breathtaking. After breakfast at ABC, we go back to MBC and descend to Bamboo. We stay overnight in Bamboo.
  • Day 10

    Bamboo – Jhinu Danda (6 hours walk)


    After breakfast in Bamboo, we continue our walk on the same trial which we used before and reach Chhomrong around lunch time. After lunch in Chhomrong, we leave our previous path and walk steeply down to a very nice place called Jhinu Danda (1780 m). We leave our bags in the lodge and climb down to the take a relaxing bath in the hot springs of the Modi Khola River. We stay overnight in Jhinu Danda.
  • Day 11

    Jhinu Danda – Nayapul – Pokhara (6 hours walk, 1,5 hours by car)


    That is our last day on the trek. We start after breakfast and walk through a beautiful landscape with many little villages and terraced rice fields. We enjoy the flora of the region and meet numerous colorful butterflies on our way. We arrive in Nayapul in the late afternoon where we take a car to back to Pokhara.
