General description of the trekking:
Trekking
in Nepal is one of the most delightful adventures
the world has to offer. This classic walk through
the Sherpa homeland of Solu-Khumbu is a moderately
strenuous high altitude trek to have an Everest without
climbing it. Much to their surprise, many people find
the snout-like Everest out-ranked by peaks like Ama
Dablam and the Lhotse wall. Khumbu is the best region
in Nepal for close-up mountain views, Enshrined in
Sagarmatha National Park. The trek to the Gokyo Lakes
offers an alternative to the traditional trek to Everest
base camp. From Gokyo, more of Everest itself is visible
though from a slighter greater distance than from
Kala Pattar. The mountains are more spectacular, and
from a ridge above Gokyo called Gokyo Ri, four 8000
meter peaks (Cho Oyu, Everest, Lhotse and Makalu)
are visible at once as well as the great Nguzumpa
Glacier (the largest in Nepal) below. The view of
the tremendous ice ridge between Cho Oyu and Gyachung
Kang is one of the most dramatic panoramas in the
Khumbu so it can be the most interesting journey and
best trek for your whole lifetime.
