We Focus On: Responsible Tourism

Responsible Tourism is about tourist making environmentally friendly, sustainable, ethical and respectful choices when traveling and minimizing the negative impact of tourism. It helps in maximizing the benefits to local communities, minimizing negative social or environmental impacts, and conserving fragile cultures, habitats and species. For communities living in popular tourist destinations, such as Nepal, Tourism can offer much needed opportunities for social and economic growth. There are however a growing number of concerns about the possible and actual negative impact on local people and environment from tourism. We at Asian Heritage Treks aim to restructure the tourism behaviors in Nepal by introducing the code of Responsible Tourism practices into making a positive impact towards environmental and economic sustainability and the preservation of local culture for all stakeholders

Tourists can make a big difference by only supporting the type of tourism that is not harmful to the environment and is supportive of local communities working to gain or maintain sustainable livelihood. Following is how you can ensure that your visit to Nepal is positive experience for both you and the people in the country you visit. We encourage you to follow the following code of conducts which we believe would help realize our aim of practicing Responsible Tourism in Nepal.
